Green smoothies are packed with nutrients, incredibly easy and super fast to whizz up, but the best part about them? The options are limitless!
There is literally no end to the combinations and flavours that you can put into your smoothie – it’s all about what works for you! Smoothies are great to have post workout or make an excellent breakfast for those days you’re on the run.
1/2 cup strawberries
1/2 cup banana
1/2 cup cucumber
1 cup baby spinach
1 cup romaine lettuce
1 cup coconut water
1 tbsp coconut oil (in liquid form)
Simply roughly chop the ingredients, put them all in the blender, whiz until smooth and hey presto! Have a little taste of your smoothie before pouring it out of the blender as you may want to play with the flavours by adding a little extra strawberries for sweetness or more coconut oil for a nutty flavour.
The recipe above makes enough for two people.
TIP: Chop up extra amounts of each of the ingredients and keep them all in a container in the fridge. Then the next morning you’ll have all your ingredients ready to go and can put them straight into the blender – saving even more time!
